ABD has produced a new video showing some of the manoeuvres necessary for autonomous emergency braking (AEB) testing. In it, a vehicle is driven along a straight-line path using ABD's path-following software, and a constant distance is maintained to the target vehicle ahead, using ABD's CBAR (combined brake and accelerator robot).
Relative position/speed information is provided from Racelogic's VBOX ADAS system and is used by ABD's robots as control feedback in the longitudinal axis.
The video also shows ABD's soft crash target vehicle and its guided soft target collaboration with Dynamic Research Inc., which have a wide range of applications for ADAS testing.
ABD is working closely with EuroNCAP test partners across Europe, and can supply all of the equipment needed to perform AEB testing, including the official EuroNCAP Vehicle Target (EVT), not shown in this video.
