Quality, Health & Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Engineer

The company require a QHSE Engineer to support and assist the QHSE Manager and regularly visit all company sites.

The QHSE Manager is a key member of the team providing leadership and direction on all matters relating to quality, health & safety and the environmental impact of AB Dynamics operations.

The QHSE Engineer will be expected to support the QHSE Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining systems related to quality, health and safety and the company’s environmental impact.  They will also assist with the design, implementation and coordination of all QHSE related initiatives for the business and will liaise with and support all departments as well as with regulatory bodies, external auditors and contractors.

Principal Responsibilities


  • Help the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Regularly review the QMS to ensure it remains up-to-date with, and relevant to, the company’s business operations, seeking out and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Conduct internal audits of documented Quality Assurance procedures
  • Investigate and manage assigned Non-Conformance Reports or Internal Issues

Health and Safety:

  • Help the development and implementation of the company’s Health and Safety Systems, policies and procedures, focusing on the prevention of incidents and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors to the company
  • Regularly review internal health and safety policies and practices to ensure they are up-to-date with and conform to the latest regulatory and company developments, seeking out and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Undertake, document and regularly review risk assessments required by the business
  • Investigate incidents or accidents (recording incidents, near misses and first aid) and ensure proper records are completed and submitted to the relevant authorities
  • Help provide detailed, competent and timely advice to department managers on all health and safety issues
  • Identify any health and safety training requirements for employees. Coordinate training programs or media which will increase efficiency of safe practices and promote and reinforce health and safety culture
  • Conduct internal audits of documented health and safety procedures


  • Help the development and implementation of the company’s environmental policies and procedures, with the aim of the company working to the ISO 14001 standard
  • Help ensure that the company complies with statutory environmental requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Relevant quality management and health and safety qualifications (e.g.  ISO9001 Internal QMS Auditor; NEBOSH Qualification)
  • Experience in a quality and health and safety focused role, ideally in an engineering environment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of ISO9001
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK HSE regulations and policies including OHSAS 18001
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Experience in performing internal quality audits (ISO9001)
  • Experience in performing internal health and safety audits (OHSAS 18001)
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Broad skill base, ideally with an engineering background
  • Driving licence
