AB Dynamics Supports Graduate Engineers Through Formula Student Sponsorship

Formula Student 2023

We are pleased to announce our continued sponsorship of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ (IMechE) UK Formula Student competition. As well as sponsoring the event, we are also supporting the University of Bath’s Team, Bath Racing electric (TBRe) Formula Student team.

Formula Student is Europe’s most established educational engineering competition, which uses motorsport to inspire students and provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. It aims to encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering. This year’s UK event will take place at the Silverstone Circuit, the home of the British Grand Prix, on the 20th-23rd July.

During the 2022 event, we showcased our static driving simulator where students were able to drive on a virtual replica of the Formula Student circuit at Silverstone. The winners of the AI event, Oxford Brookes University, were invited to drive AB Dynamics’ Dynamic aVDS at its headquarters.

This year, engineers from across AB Dynamics will be volunteering their time to judge the competition, covering both the onsite dynamic tests and the virtual contest. We will also be exhibiting at the final event.

“The Formula Student competition is a fantastic way for students to showcase their enthusiasm and engineering understanding,” said Dave Fisher, AB Dynamics Talent Acquisition Specialist. “Many of our engineers across the company participated in Formula Student as undergraduates and is proven to be a well-trodden path to a successful engineering career. It bridges the gap between the world of university and work, and we are delighted to be sponsoring the event again.”

Formula Student plays a key role in our commitment to help develop the next generation of engineers. In addition to Formula Student, we also support young engineering talent through our placement scheme, graduate programme and offering entry-level engineering positions. The graduate programme provides an opportunity for new recruits to spend the first 18-months of their career rotating across various departments, including laboratory test, track test, simulation or working with a specific product team. As a global company, there is the potential to work with our international teams based in Europe, North America and Asia.

For more information on AB Dynamics’ placement or graduate scheme, visit our website or to submit a speculative CV for consideration to our entry-level engineering positions, email careers@abdynamics.com.
