In two years, Euro NCAP will introduce car-to-car (C2C) ADAS testing, evaluating more complicated scenarios to see whether a car's onboard technology can avoid different types of collision.
Euro NCAP's 2020 roadmap details the plans for Rating Updates (pages 13-14) featuring scenarios such as oncoming traffic and crossing traffic collisions.
Whereas the first-generation of AEB tests are done using a towed target which resembles the rear of a vehicle, these future Euro NCAP tests will require a full three-dimensional vehicle target.
AB Dynamics offers the Guided Soft Target (GST) and Soft Crash Target (SCT) which can be driven at high speeds and with unrivalled accuracy, as well as allowing precise synchronisation with your test vehicle. With photo-realistic and radar-reflective skins, they are designed to be recognised as a car by your vehicle's sensors.
Euro NCAP labs are already using our soft vehicle targets to finalise these new test standards - make sure that you have what you need to stay ahead of the new tests.
