All available assets on the proving ground are instantly detected and a continuous communications link is established throughout the day, gaining reliable, consistent feedback. The server can also connect easily to proving ground infrastructure and street furniture, such as traffic lights, barriers, laser trip fences and gates.

The GTC is equipped with a cutting-edge collision detection and prevention system which monitors the position, heading and speeds of all vehicles. In the event of a potential collision, the system can command a range of actions for robot-driven vehicles and send audible/visual alerts to human driven vehicles. This means that mixed traffic – both driverless robot and human driven vehicles can coexist on the proving ground.

Advanced monitoring

The GTC software allows the supervisor to see all vehicles and ADAS platforms in a single map view or zoom in on an individual vehicle with the option for more than one operator on different PC workstations, allowing a significant increase in productivity. The system’s interface can be personalised to the user’s preferences, while a virtual dashboard displays live vehicle data in an intuitive and easy-to-read panel. Additionally, Monitor Mode allows read-only access that enables track security and emergency services to monitor vehicle positioning.
