New Transducer Strut option enables installation onto panoramic roofs

Transtrut

Due to the growing number of cars with panoramic roofs, AB Dynamics has developed an add-on to their transducer strut – a device which enables measurement devices like GPS motion packs and accelerometers to be rapidly and securely mounted in a vehicle.

The standard strut has a friction pad on the top designed to grip on the headliner fabric of a car.  In its place, a vacuum cup on a spherical bearing can now be fitted, which attaches to the inside of a glass roof. The new optional kit includes the spring pre-load mechanism and simply screws into the top of the strut in place of the standard parts.

The transducer strut is designed to cope with accelerations, shock and vehicle body deflection and has no vibration modes below 50Hz.
