Soft Crash Target

No-harm ADAS testing with the Soft Crash Target (SCT).

An electrically-driven vehicle which can follow paths accurately at speeds of up to 70kph, the SCT is suitable for testing on a wide range of surfaces.  

The SCT uses our sophisticated path-following system to allow centimetre-accurate driving, together with Synchro to coordinate its motion precisely with that of your test vehicle.

The SCT’s unique design allows for the widest range of ADAS scenarios to be created.

With much greater ground clearance than over-drivable targets, the SCT can be used on imperfect surfaces and even where there is standing water. 

Safely integrates with the GST

The SCT can be used together with the GST for tests where more than one ADAS target is required. Thanks to the ground clearance of the SCT, the two vehicles can collide without damage (unlike when two GST-style vehicles collide).

Quick Assembly

Quick rebuild time

After low-speed collisions, there is no rebuild necessary. The carefully-designed inflatable cushions spring back to their original shape. After higher speed collisions, reassembly is quick and easy. 

All day testing

There’s no need to swap battery packs. We’ve designed the SCT such that the onboard batteries will power it for a full day of testing.

Synchronisation using a common software environment

The SCT uses our high-performance TrackFi or TrackFi Pro telemetry systems, together with AB Dynamics’ unique Synchro software.

This allows perfect synchronisation with your test vehicle, whether driven by robots or a human driver. Multiple tracker objects can be synchronised with the subject vehicle, allowing complex ADAS scenarios to be created.

The SCT has a fail-safe backup brake system, together with a vigilant safety controller.

Watchdog signals are used to ensure all system elements are fully functional, and in the event of a problem, dual brake circuits ensure that it can be stopped.
